The Videon EdgeCaster EZ is a powerful encoder designed for the point-of-production, offering both low latency and cost efficiency in a compact form factor.
It is available in three configurations that are upgradeable to accommodate a variety of live streaming workflows. Individual device management and health monitoring for a fleet of edge devices is enabled through access to the LiveEdge Cloud.
Single Channel

The EdgeCaster EZ's H.264/H.265/HEVC encoding achieves a global latency of less than three seconds. The outputs support both HLS and DASH with CMAF and six bit rates of up to 30 Mbps. EdgeCaster EZ eliminates the time-consuming, compute-intensive encode/decode/re-encode processes associated with cloud-only workflows by performing these tasks directly at the production site, increasing efficiency.
Depending on configuration, EdgeCaster EZ can send a single stream or up to three simultaneous streams to major streaming platforms and local destinations in the cloud or over the public Internet, making it the most versatile solution for both local and broadcast video distribution. The EdgeCaster EZ offers simultaneous RTMP/RTMPS streaming to online platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Amazon Web Services and others; support for RTSP, unicast, multicast, SRT and HLS/DASH.
EdgeCaster EZ devices can be remotely upgraded to multiple outputs or multiple outputs plus MBR. More importantly, the EdgeCaster EZ can be upgraded to the Videon Compute Platform (VCP) at any time by simply unlocking the device and taking out a VCP subscription. VCP benefits include access to Videon's ongoing development with continuous 6-8 week release cycles, additional features such as time synchronization to facilitate multi-camera source productions, SCTE-35 ad brand insertion for monetization, early access beta testing, VCare+ with hardware upgrade options and much more.
