Next Level NDI® tools
The 4K family is also based on BirdDog's NDI® processor and is housed in an aircraft-grade aluminum chassis. Features include 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs and outputs, an integrated cross-converter, an SFP+ port for 10GbE connectivity, active loop-outs, an audio intercom system, an NDI® Tally system, PoE and compatibility with BirdDog's Comms Pro and Central Pro apps.
Encoding and decoding up to 4KP60
With support for all resolutions up to 4Kp60, including all HD resolutions, encoding and decoding 4K Full NDI® has never been easier.
12G & HDMI 2.0 connections
All SDI connections on the 4K line are 12G SDI, including all four SDI connections on the 4K Quad. All HDMI ports are 2.0 ports for maximum compatibility.
SFP+ for 10GBE & long range
The SFP+ connection enables long-range connections via fiber optics and supports 1GbE and 10GbE Ethernet.
NDI Tally that simply works
A complete tally system is integrated directly into the 4K family and requires no configuration. It includes a built-in large tally light that allows your presenters to easily identify which camera is live, as well as user-selectable tally frames on loop-out.
Cross Converter
All 4K products have an integrated cross converter. All 12G-SDI inputs can be looped through via the HDMI 2.0 connection and all HDMI 2.0 inputs can be looped through via the 12G-SDI connection.
PTZ control
With the optional USB Ethernet dongle, you can control any PTZ camera that supports NDI®, NDI|HX or Visca over IP.
Adaptive bit rate
Full NDI® is a variable bit rate codec. BirdDog recommends allowing approximately 140 Mbps in HD or 6 streams per 1 GbE cable with some slack under normal circumstances. For 4K, it is recommended to allow around 300 Mbps or 3 streams with some slack to accommodate unforeseen spikes. With the BirdDog tools you can select the bitrate according to your bandwidth and requirements. In HD you can choose between 80-180Mbps and in 4K between 60 and 360Mbps.
Comms Lite free of charge, upgrade to Comms Pro
The 4K family includes the free Comms Lite audio intercom software. Comms Lite supports four BirdDog devices and one Director. Do you need a more powerful audio intercom solution? Comms Pro gives you all the features of Comms Lite and allows you to create up to five groups, add additional push-to-talk buttons for the Director, the ability to switch groups on the fly and much more.
Distribute NDI® content everywhere. Simply add Central
BirdDog Central is a software platform that will redefine the way we deliver content to TV screens. By connecting Central to any NDI® source, including any BirdDog hardware that can create NDI® sources, you can now route your NDI® streams to any BirdDog Studio NDI, Mini or 4K family to decode NDI® back to SDI or HDMI.
