Skaarhoj ETH-GPI Link
GPIO control made easy. With the ETH-GPI Link you can connect and control everything, including your Tally lights. You can trigger ATEM switcher routines, control a HyperDeck, change scopes on a SmartScope Duo and route the inputs/outputs on a VideoHub. Defining single or multiple parameters for inputs/outputs is extremely fast thanks to the drop-down menu structure in UniSketch OS.
You can control everything with the GPIO controller. Integration into existing systems such as CCUs, video routing and other video switchers or video infrastructure units is possible. The universal I/O controllers offer 8/16 inputs and 8/16 outputs, all electrically isolated with quality relays and optocouplers. GPO is implemented with relays that short-circuit to GND. GPI is implemented with optical isolators shorted to GND. The DB25 connector configuration is similar to Blackmagic Design's GPI and Tally interface. SKAARHOJ offers a breakout board for the DB25 connector with Phoenix connectors.
There are versions with 8 or 16 I/Os.

NEWTEK TRICASTER + BLACKMAGIC BREATH
How to access an ATEM switcher from a NewTek TriCaster switcher? The scenario is as follows:
- Video switching on TriCaster
- ATEM Switcher for controlling cameras (Studio Camera, URSA Mini and URSA Broadcast)
- ATEM Tally must follow TriCaster.
The ETH-GPI-Link can help to solve the problem. However, first check whether the SDI-GPI link is more suitable for you.
ATEM Tally follows TriCaster Tally - GPI
In this setup, the ETH-GPI Link establishes a connection to the ATEM Switcher and sets the preview/program according to the signals it receives at the GPI In. Use the standard configuration "ATEM Connectivity".
ATEM Tally follows TriCaster Tally - IP
In this setup, the ETH-GPI Link establishes a connection to the ATEM switcher + TriCaster and translates the program/preview states of the ETH-GPI Link to the ATEM via virtual hardware components so that the two switchers are synchronized. Use the standard configuration "ATEM Tally follow TriCaster Tally".
Joystick override - RCP touchdown via hold groups
The Hold Group feature, found in device cores such as Blackmagic ATEM + VideoHub and AJA KUMO routers, allows the RCP touchdown function to be used. The Hold Group function falls back to a previous source for a group of triggers using a queuing system and finally to the first previous value before a trigger in the group was activated.
Sending GPI via Ethernet and much more
With the TCP Server + TCP Client device cores, you can network the SKAARHOJ controllers together - not just two controllers, but entire groups if you wish. This video first shows how to easily transmit a GPI input trigger on an ETH-GPI-Link box over a network to a relay on another, distant ETH-GPI-Link with a latency of only 10 ms. And it's duplex! The video then goes on to show how a tally box system from SKAARHOJ can be quickly reconfigured to connect to such an ETH-GPI link box while still delivering tally from an ATEM switcher. However, the actual possibilities go far beyond this example.
