ZBrush 2024

The industry standard for digital painting and sculpting, ZBrush, is better than ever - with improvements to the Anchors Brush introduced in July, offering new ways to edit meshes. Other improvements allow more control when using the Knife Brush and make it easier to repeat changes to a mesh.

• The innovative Anchors Brush has been updated to allow the brush to be used without having to mask the surface.

• Thanks to the new "Split to Parts" function of the Knife Brush, assets can be split into parts. However, the split parts remain as separate or combined parts in the SubTool menu.

• The "Gizmo" and "Transpose" tools now offer topology masking and the ability to snap to the center of the masked area. The Gizmo and Transpose lines can snap along the masked area, simplifying the masking workflow.

• Cinema 4D noises are now available in the ZBrush gallery for surface noises.

• With the new "Repeat to Similar" function, artists can easily repeat changes to a source mesh they are currently working on and transfer the changes to other meshes with the same number of polygons. The Repeat to Similar feature supports sculpting changes, full mesh replacement, masking and polygrouping.

• The functions for enlarging and reducing masks have been expanded to offer better control and more design options.

• There is a new stroke option called DragStamp. This allows you to control the intensity of an alpha texture that is dragged onto the surface by moving the mouse pointer back and forth.

• Two new buttons have been added for working on creases, allowing more control over areas of an asset where creases and edges occur: Crease Unmasked and Uncrease Unmasked.

• Insert Mesh Brushes are now compatible with the Stroke menu options.
