The BirdDog 4K HDMI is a dual channel 4K NDI encoder/decoder.
Next Level NDI® tools
The 4K family is also based on BirdDog's NDI® processor and is housed in an aircraft-grade aluminum chassis. Features include 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs and outputs, an integrated cross-converter, an SFP+ port for 10GbE connectivity, active loop-outs, an audio intercom system, an NDI® Tally system, PoE and compatibility with BirdDog's Comms Pro and Central Pro apps.
2 channel encoding or decoding up to 4KP60
With support for resolutions up to 4Kp60, including HD resolutions, for encoding or decoding two independent channels.
12G & HDMI 2.0 connections
All SDI connections on the 4K line are 12G SDI, including all four SDI connections on the 4K Quad. All HDMI ports are 2.0 ports for maximum compatibility.
SFP+ for 10GBE & long range
The SFP+ connection enables long-range connections via fiber optics and supports 1GbE and 10GbE Ethernet.
NDI Tally
A tally light is integrated directly into the 4K family of converters and requires no configuration. It includes a built-in large tally light that allows your presenters to easily identify which camera is live, as well as user-selectable tally frames on loop-out.
Cross Converter
All 4K products have an integrated cross converter. All 12G-SDI inputs can be looped through via the HDMI 2.0 connection and all HDMI 2.0 inputs can be looped through via the 12G-SDI connection.
Adaptive bit rate
Full NDI® is a variable bitrate codec. With the BirdDog tools, you can select the bit rate according to your bandwidth and requirements. In HD you can choose between 80-180Mbps and in 4K between 60 and 360Mbps.
Comms Lite free of charge, upgrade to Comms Pro
The 4K family includes the free Comms Lite audio intercom software. Comms Lite supports four BirdDog devices and one Director. Do you need a more powerful audio intercom solution? BirdDog Central is a software platform that will redefine the way we deliver content to TV screens. By connecting Central to any NDI® source, including any BirdDog hardware that can create NDI® sources, you can now route your NDI® streams to any BirdDog Studio NDI, Mini or 4K family to decode NDI® back to SDI or HDMI.
